South Bound 35

Once a year my mom has to attend a conference in Austin for work. She is the administrative assistant to the Superintendent at WISD, and every year she has to be updated on all the new laws the state has put in place for elections. It's probably just as boring as it sounds so for the past few years I've been going down with her because it's the perfect time to finish our Christmas shopping! Each day after she's done with all of her sessions we take off and shop till we drop!

We hit the road Tuesday afternoon and made it to Austin just in time for dinner. First stop, even before checking into the hotel,  Cheesecake Factory! The restaurant is within walking distance from our hotel so it's always on our list of stops. It was delicious as always, but little missy was getting sleepy so we took our cheesecake to go.

Dulce de Leche, soooo good!

Wednesday the seminar started so Addy and I spent a "normal" morning in the hotel room eating breakfast, playing, and napping. Although my pumpkin had a little trouble with nap time since they were doing construction in the rooms directly above us :/ I swear construction follows me everywhere!

Finding everything dangerous in the room to pull up on...

Once my mom was all done for the day we loaded up and headed out for round one of shopping. Our hotel is right in the middle of The Arboretum, which has tons of great stores in it. Naturally we had to stop in Janie and Jack and get something precious for the precious one, plus a few more purchases in Francesca's, Restoration Hardware, and ZGallerie to knock some things off the Christmas list. Then we headed across the way to shop for a couple angel tree angels. We got them all fixed up and by this time Addy-girl was worn out...and so were momma and Debs! We decided to get Chuy's (another restaurant must-have) to-go and eat in our room so missy could stretch her limbs a little before bedtime.

Dah-licious

The next day we were ready for round two! Debs had a good break in the day where we were able to meet up with Addy's Mahwee for lunch!! Addyson got to show off her crawling skills and TWO new pearly whites when Mahwee took her to her office for a little baby bragging :) And who wouldn't want to show off this sweet face?

Mahwee and her baby girl

We had some more time before Mahwee had to get back to work, so while she was on baby patrol, I got to do a little Christmas shopping for myself at H&M. Love that place! I got a few things for me and of course had to get some things for my munchkin.

Aren't those adorable?

Exhausted little shopper

Sadly Mahwee had to leave us, but we cheered ourselves up with more shopping! We made our way all over The Domain, and if you've been there you know there are lots of stops to be made! Once again we checked more things off the never ending Christmas lists. Same as the day before, Addyson, mommy, and Debs were exhausted so it was a light dinner for us plus some sweet treats for the night in the room. Think we got enough?

Cinnamon roll, 2 cinnamon pecan rugalaches, 1 apricot rugalach, a peppermint iced brownie, and a partridge in a pear tree. It was sweet dreams for us!

Friday was our last day in Austin. The conference was over by lunch time, so we squished all of our luggage in with the multitude of shopping bags and hit the road, Jack. That was my Duck Dynasty reference for the day :) We headed straight for the Roundrock Outlets with our running shoes, err make that stylish yet comfortable flats, on.  If you've ever been there then you know there's a whole side with all the children's stores. As if my love bug isn't spoiled enough we had to go in each and every store to make sure we didn't see something she "needed". If Addy knew the power already held with her Debs...

Hanging out in her stroller, being an angel

Like always my sugar bear was a perfect shopping partner and sat in her stroller, mostly, quiet for the long afternoon we put her through. We found some great steals and deals for our last day of shopping, and we each got the majority of our Christmas list checked off. Successful week!

Bless her heart, all tuckered out

God is so good for blessing me with the opportunity to spend a week of quality time with my wonderful mom. She has provided such a great example of how to be a Proverbs 31 woman and mother, and I hope I'm making her proud!
