WILW

So I jumped on the blogging bandwagon and now I'm hopping on the "What I'm Loving Wednesday" bandwagon!! I'll probably end up doing Throwback Thursdays too! So here's what I'm loving this Wednesday!

Kroger corn, lol!!! They have ears of sweet Texas corn on sale for .38 cents an ear! Uhm, you can't really beat that! And you don't have to gas up the grill to cook it either. I just pop mine in the oven at 350* for 30 minutes and we've got good 'ol roasted corn for dinner! Daaahlicious!

Bath and Body Works Pink Chiffon body wash! This is definitely my new favorite scent. I got it from my MIL at my baby shower back in March, but just opened it up last month. It smells sooo good and the best part is that it rubs off on Addyson when I'm holding her and keeps her smelling good all day too!

Sensitive strip diapers!! I have no idea when they first came out with these diapers, but whoever invented them is a genius! If you have no clue what I'm talking about they're diapers with a strip in the middle that changes colors when wet! Yellow is dry, blue is wet. I made the mistake of picking up diapers without the sensitive strip in them and that was the longest week of my life! I couldn't have wished for her to go through those diapers any faster! So glad I had a baby in 2012!

And of course I'm in love with these two! Ryan has to work every other Sunday so after Addy-girl and I get out of church we go meet him for lunch! Addyson got her first ever balloon at Chili's this Sunday, and I should have taken a picture of her with it but I popped it before that crossed my mind :/ Oh well, I'm sure there will be plenty more in her lifetime!

God is so good for blessing me with so many tiny things in life that can bring me joy!

Dog Days of August

So I sat down and began to write this post about 30 minutes ago when I had gotten Addyson down for a nap! Now for those of you who read yesterday's post you're thinking "Say whaaa? I thought that baby never napped!" Well, may God strike me dead if I'm lying, as I was literally typing the sentence "Hope I'm not jinxing myself by trying to write..." who should wake up but miss priss! That's o.k. though because I live for that precious little face!

Wide awake!

So Ryan and I have become short term foster parents to a new dog, Ranger. One of Ryan's friends is building a new house and Ranger needed a place to stay until his new home is finished. He's a sweet yellow lab and since we already have a sweet yellow lab of our own we said we would take him in! I had no idea how excited Maggie would be to have a new live-in friend! These two dogs have given me a run for my money and it's only been two weeks. The first night Ranger helped himself to some nachos that I had left on the kitchen counter. Stupid me. Can't fault the guy for liking Mexican food though! Then on day two he walked through his water bowl so that he could dig his little paws through the trash that was under the sink. He's just a little mischievous, but he really is a sweet pup.

He apparently likes our toilet

I actually feel sorry for Ranger because miss Maggie thinks that we got Ranger to be her personal play toy. She chases that poor boy from the second he wakes until we get him to safety in his kennel at night. Now for those of you who know Maggie you know that she could stand to lose a few 100 pounds, so the running and playing is definitely a good thing for her. Just not so good for the sleep deprived, nearly psychotic new mother...

I will say that they are keeping things interesting around here! God is so good to bless us with a home that is large enough for two big 'ol labs to run around in!

First Time For Everything

So this is my first blog ever! Woohoo! I wish I would've started blogging when I was pregnant and then I really wish I would've started when baby girl was born, but hey better late than never right?  I know most mommies get their blogging done while their kiddos nap, but I've been blessed with a child who never naps. Ever. So in our house we have "theoretical nap time". These are the times of day when I know Addyson is tired, and in theory she should be sleeping, but she doesn't. So I definitely won't be posting every day because it's hard enough to find time to brush my teeth much less sit down at the computer and let the world know of my sleepless days and nights. That's right, the non-napper also still wakes twice a night... Luckily I'm like my mother and don't require a ton of sleep to keep going the next day, but it would be nice to get more than a 4 hour stretch at night! Now that I think about it, I guess Addy-girl acquired that trait too! Thanks a lot Debs :)
Here's a rare photo-op of my little faker. Sometimes she'll tease me and sleep for 6 minutes instead of 5. Such a trickster!

I had a diary that I started while I was pregnant, and I wrote in it pretty often because I knew that I would want to remember all the good, the bad, and the ugly of my first pregnancy, but once miss Addyson made her arrival I haven't even cracked it open! So this little blog is going to be my new way of keeping up with my growing girl! And this way all of our family that live hours and hours away can keep up with her too!
One more pic for the road! She's just too cute to keep these pictures to myself!

When I was writing in my diary I ended every entry with a reminder of why God is so good, so I figured I would keep up the "tradition" on here because God is ALWAYS good. So today I will gladly close with saying that God is so good for giving me a few precious hours every night to sleep in my warm, safe, comfy bed, and no matter which way I roll I'm surrounded by the two people I love the most!
Ryan will hate me for this one :)
