W-I-L-W

It's Wednesday again and here's what I'm loving this week!

Mommy/Addy cuts and colors! Well Addyson didn't get her hair colored, obviously, but she did get a little trim. I went back to dark for the fall and got a much needed trim myself.
Addy-girl and Whitney
We're matchers!

Sour Punch Straws! Well I actually love these every Wednesday, not just today. I normally only have them when I'm at the movies but this week I have them at home thanks to my wonderful hubby. He actually bought them for me a while back, but I've been saving them for the perfect time to savor them :)
Yummmm

Monthly PT visits! Addy-girl has made such great improvements that we don't have to go back until next month! Although I secretly liked going because it was a chance to get out of the house...sad I know.
Looking to her right but that's OK :)

Fall Decorations! Even though its still in the 90's outside I'm ready for everything fall! And since Halloween comes first its time for spooky decorations. I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a bad idea with two dogs and a baby in the house this year...
Let the witching begin!

God is so good for letting me wake up another day and have so much to be thankful for!

Oh Happy Day

Something amazing has happened in the Turner household- Miss Addyson has started taking a nap!!!! It only took her 5 months and 9 days to get it figured out, but she's finally done it! And it comes at the perfect time of day for me, 4:00. Just as I am getting tired and needing to start dinner! Although most days I start dinner around 10:00am, because I learned quickly with a child who never sleeps that I have to get things done when I can!
Sleeps just like her Daddy

We've got a good routine figured out that will hopefully stick around for a while. At 3:00 the t.v. turns down, the blinds get closed, and the dogs get separated (the last part is key!). Then I start to sing or hum Jesus Loves Me while she gets a fresh diaper and gets swaddled as tight as I can get her- also key for my little wiggle worm. Then I feed her and hold her for exactly an hour and twenty minutes. Sounds crazy I know, but I've been battling this child long enough that I know her sleep rhythms like the back of my hand! She'll stir after 30 minutes and then at 70 minutes and if I'm not there to soothe her back to sleep it's all a loss, so it's easiest to just hold her for the full hour and twenty!
I could just eat those cheeks!

Then, if I can put her down without making a single peep she'll stay asleep. Sweet success. She'll usually sleep for at least an hour, and if I can keep Ryan from going in and loving on her she'll sleep for 2 hours. It's an absolute miracle. My baby is growing up!

God is so good for helping my little angel finally start getting the rest she needs, and for my new break during the day!!!

Throwback Thursday-Ali Edition

It's Throwback Thursday time again! This weeks unlucky subject is my best friend in the whole world, Ali!

Ali moved to Weatherford in 9th grade but went to the other junior high, so we didn't really become friends until our junior year in psychology class, but we've been besties ever since!

"Good Times, Good Times"

One of my favorite vacations ever, Destin, FL! Our senior year we went with our two other best friends, Rachael and Jamie, and had an absolute blast. We thought we were so cool when the parents let us drive around Destin one night by ourselves. Now that I'm a parent (uhm, that's still weird to say) I'm sure they were just happy to get rid of us for a few hours!

Tan and Skinny...oh to be young again!

We're the only two nerds in our "group" who go to all of the midnight premiers for Harry Potter and Twilight. We would've done The Hunger Games this past March, but I was getting ready to pop at that point!

Waiting to see New Moon

Of course we were both in each others weddings!
Prettiest little bride!

One of my favorite pictures!

God is so good for putting Ali in my life. I can't think of enough nice things to say about her. I could spend all day getting sappy and mushy because I love this "little blueberry" to death, but instead I'll keep it short and sweet and say she's the best friend a girl could ask for and there's no one else like her!
Now she needs to work on a life long bestie for Addy-girl ;)

Weekend in Abilene

What a fun weekend we had!!! Saturday was Ryan's grandfather's 80th birthday so we made our first trip as a family of three to Abilene! This was also the first time since Addyson was born that she got to see all 3 set of grandparents in one weekend! That alone is a wonderful thing!

We started out by going to Weatherford Friday night for Addyson's first kangaroo football game. She must have been their good luck charm because they played awesome and won, 21-7! Before the game we ate in the press box where Debs and Grampa got to show off miss Addyson to their friends. Then we headed out into the cold to cheer on the Roos. The best part of the game was the mom sitting in front of us who kept Addy-girl entertained the whole night with her hootin' and hollerin'. Addyson told me last night she wants her own cowbell now! (She's in luck because I still have my HSU Sweethearts one!)

Go Roos!

We got up bright and early Saturday morning and took off for Abilene. Addyson was greeted with a tea party set up just for her from her aunt Kinsley!! Apparently, Kinsley started planning and preparing for her tea party 3 days before we even for there!! Too cute!

Tea Time!

3 Pretty Girls!

Then we had lunch at Ryan's old stomping grounds, Olive Garden, where proud daddy got to do plenty of showing off to his old co-workers.

At the OG

Then it was off to see the first set of great-grandparents, Mauzie and Pa. Addyson had a great time there getting loved on by her Mauzie! And then a miracle happened. My amazing father-in-law got Addyson to sleep!!! That's right, a nap! She put up quite the fight but eventually grandpa Keith won out. Of course she only stayed asleep for about 30 minutes, but hey I'll take it!

We Match!

Addyson and Mauzie

Next it was over to see the other set of great-grandparents, Meemaw and Bubba, the birthday boy. Addyson also got to meet her great-uncle Bobby for the first time. Meemaw had made us all a wonderful dinner while Addy-girl enjoyed some sweet potatoes, yum!

Addyson and Meemaw

Sunday morning we were up for the birthday celebration. We had a wonderful lunch and Addyson got to meet a few distant cousins!! She turned on the charm and stayed a happy baby through the whole luncheon, even though I know she was exhausted! It was a great time getting to see and catch up with everyone!

   Poor exhausted baby!

All said and done it was an absolutely wonderful weekend. God is so good for blessing us with such a big family who loves us!!!

PS-sorry for my poor photo quality! I guess I need to invest in a real camera, but my phone is always so handy!

W-I-L-W

Happy "hump day" everyone! Hope your week has been fabulous so far! Only two more days until the weekend! Woohoo! Here's what I'm loving this Wednesday!!!

Live! With Kelly and Michael!!! I always loved watching Live! With Regis and Kelly, but maybe because I'm younger, Regis always annoyed the hoo-wha out of me! So when he retired and it was just Kelly I was sooo excited. She spent her whole first season trying out different co-hosts and they were all wonderful, except for one who was exceptional: Michael Strahan! I always knew who he was because of football and his infamous gap-toothed smile, but I had never really heard him talk. The first time he co-hosted with Kelly I thought he was absolutely hilarious! I don't normally laugh out loud at the T.V. but when Michael was on I was cracking up. So needless to say when the new season started up last Monday and Kelly announced that he was her official new co-host I was a happy, happy girl!

Football season!!! I love watching all sports but football is by far my favorite. Ironic seeing as how when I was about 10 years old and was at a Weatherford football game with my parents my dad told me the church was having 5th Quarter after the game and I started crying thinking I had to sit through a whole other quarter, lol! But now that I'm a big girl I love to watch my Cowboys! Who doesn't love America's team?? Whether they win or lose, throw 6 interceptions in a game, or ice our own kicker (last year still hurts a little) I'm still a fan! I think Addy-girl is going to be a big fan too!
Go Cowboys!!!

Snickerdoodle Blondies! Oh Em Gee these things are sooo good! I found the recipe on Pinterest (what's a cookbook?) and had to make them immediately. The original blogger said she almost had to pour the kitchen soap on these to keep herself from eating them all, and now I know what she means!I've already made them twice because they're so good, so easy, and I already had all of the ingredients! The first time I made them was when our friends Ali and Joseph came over for dinner. It was all I could do to not eat the whole pan before they got there! Then I made them for Labor Day weekend, and I ate two on the car ride over to my parents! Needless to say, these will probably be a reoccurring sweet snack at our house!

Lastly, I love reading to my baby girl! I try to read her a bible story either at breakfast time in the morning or if we have time before she goes to bed! Her Mim bought her this awesome book that when opened has two holes for your eyes to make a mask! It's perfect for playing peek-a-boo and for learning our animals!!
It apparently tastes good too!
Always have reading material in the bathroom!

God is so good for giving me plenty of little things to make me have a happy Wednesday!!!

Big 5 Month Old

I can't believe that my baby girl is already 5 months old!!! Where has the time gone? I told Ryan yesterday that I can't believe she's only one month away from being half a year old haha! I remember the day she was born just like it was yesterday, and I wish I could go right back! (Minus the labor and delivery part of course!) Here are a few stats on my little grow worm:

She weighs 12 lbs 6 oz, still a tiny little munchkin! She can still wear all of her 3 month onesies, but she's getting just a little too long for them. 3mo dresses are still perfect for church though!
On our way to church last week!

She sleeps almost never during the day, but I can sometimes get a 45 minute nap out of her if I sit and hold her (without blinking, breathing, or thinking of course because that might just wake her majesty). Night is getting better. She has slept through the night a few times now, but still normally wakes up at least once to eat.
Happy baby in the morning!

She eats about 4-6 oz now. We're still breastfeeding and I'm pretty proud of myself for that one! It's harder than it seems, but I know it's the best thing for her! We started solids last month and I must say the kid can eat! Except for the rice cereal she has gobbled it all up! So far she's had cereal, avocado, zucchini, squash, and this week we start green beans! I've been making all of her food at home and I love to see my girl eat her veggies! I guess she's technically had an apple too, her Debs let her gum it to death to soothe those toofies about to poke through! Much better than the whipped cream Debs gave her at Cheesecake Factory!
Mmmm apple!

Lip smackin' good!

She is a pro at rolling over from her tummy to her back, and this past week she's figured out how to go from her back to her tummy! I officially have a roly poly! She has also mastered pushing up on her little arms. Tummy time is a breeze now, if I can keep her from immediately rolling over! Her Torticollis is much better too! She has a less than 5 degree tilt, and we only have to go to physical therapy every other week now! Woohoo! Addy-girl has been working hard on her exercises!
Such a big girl!

I am so lucky to wake up to that sweet face every day! God is so good for choosing me to be the mommy to this perfect-in-every-way beautiful girl!!!

Throwback Thursday

Well, I said I probably would and here I am, Throwback Thursday bandwaggoning! Maybe I should just change the name of my blog to the The Bandwaggoner...hmmm not catchy enough. So anyways I'm not going to throw it back too far this time, just back to college. A whopping 4 years ago! Seems like a lifetime though since so much has changed in my life. But it all changed for the better, and it all changed because of this guy!

This was our first trip together down to New Braunfels with my bestie Ali and her now husband Joseph. Floating the Comal, The Gristmill and Gruene Hall, and Schlitterbahn make for a perfect Texas vacay!
 Floatin' the Comal
We had to leave our mark on Gruene Hall!
Schlitterbahn is still fun, even in your 20's

Here is our first real vacation together to Steamboat, CO for the Music Fest. It was a blast but waaay too cold for this Texas girl. I'll take the 100* plus weather any day!
Sponsored by Pepsi
This was probably around 2am!
Oh to be young again...
We took this pic at a gas station on our way out of town, lol

This was our first snowball fight. Our now married friends, the Sellari's beat us home from church and ambushed us from the roof of our house! Such sweet friends haha!

And of course I have to include a wedding and a honeymoon photo!
Happiest day of my life, tied with baby girl's birthday of course!

Beautiful Atlantis! Wish I was there now!

God is soooo good for blessing me with my amazing husband!!! I love him more every day!!!
